Leo Full Moon Jan 28, 2021
There’s definitely a shift in the air for this Leo Full Moon, the first full moon of 2021. Now is a great time to look back on last year with pride in your heart and chalk up your accomplishments, however small you think they may be. Really feel that Leo Pride today, and don’t be afraid to boost up someone else for their accomplishments today and the next few days.
Pride isn’t the only thing Leos live for. Leo energy is about generosity just as much as pride. While the lion may seem self-serving to the unfamiliar eye, it knows that it couldn’t survive without the Pride, literally “the pack”. What’s a celebrity without fans? What’s a leader without a people? What’s a God without disciples? The Leo-Aquarius axis exists as a reminder that the most unusual amongst us are usually the most celebrated, that finding your individuality always stems from the basis of your culture, and that a motive of service to the community is the Hero’s way.
As with all full moon rituals, the theme is release and “banishing”. So anything you’d like to release that may be a negative trait of Leo (bragging, social acceptance, entitlement, etc) can be done right now. Here’s a quick ritual:
Easy Leo Moon Ritual
- Light a candle.
- Smoke cleanse yourself and your space.
- Meditate for ten minutes.
- Create a list of ten things you wish to let go of; it’s best if it shares any Leo qualities.
- Tear the list into ten strips.
- Put the strips in a jar and fill with water and a crystal of your choosing (I like rutilated quartz or citrine for Leo).
- Perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.
- Leave the jar out overnight in the moonlight.
- Pour the water out into running water (either a stream or a kitchen faucet).
- Bury the strips of paper in the earth.
- Give thanks for the moon’s concern and listening to your request.
Next up is Imbolc: how I love this season!!
